At Transactility, meaningful software contributions begin with clear, thoughtful articulation of what needs to be built. Whether you write Java, JSON, ISO 8583, ISO 20022, or the documentation that explains these systems, your words shape how money moves.

How you’ll craft impact

• Design, build, and refine backend services for penny-perfect payment authorization, clearing, and settlement.

• Work fluently with ISO 8583 and ISO 20022, traditional networks such as Visa, Mastercard, and local switches, and emerging rails including open banking, tokenized assets, and crypto-powered settlement.

• Build secure foundations for card management, fraud prevention, and monitoring, with PCI DSS and encryption considered throughout.

• Collaborate through thoughtful code reviews, design sessions, and pragmatic Agile rhythms that improve the architecture.

• Own complex production flows across performance, integrity, and reliability, extending your craft beyond the IDE.

• Explore the areas that interest you most: backend systems, frontend work, ISO specifications, or infrastructure optimization.

Your open-source-inspired toolkit

• A craftsperson’s mindset and 5+ years of Java backend or full-stack experience, with a focus on clean, maintainable, tested code.

• Strong fundamentals in JSON APIs, relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL, and distributed systems, plus familiarity with Virtual Threads, structured logging, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, and Java Flight Recorder.

• Understanding of payment flows, card schemes, encryption, tokenization, EMV, or ANSI X9.24 is valuable, but curiosity and strong engineering fundamentals matter most.

• Android or iOS experience is a plus as we build consumer applications for POS devices, wallets, open banking, and fintech experiences.

• An open-source spirit: intrinsic motivation, collaborative problem-solving, and a drive to leave systems better than you found them.

• Clear, thoughtful communication in English, especially in writing, across time zones, cultures, and code reviews.

Nice to have

Experience in fintech, banking, gateways, EMV, digital wallets, real-time payments, Solidity, CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, Next.js, or Tailwind is welcome but not mandatory. Comfort in Unix environments, a strong security mindset, awareness of CVEs and zero-day disclosures, and familiarity with PCI DSS or ISO/IEC 27001 are valuable. Contributions to jPOS or other open-source projects are a significant plus.
